This series of playful prints explores the diversity of design approaches to a single, common object, the milk crate. Each print evokes a different “personality”, echoing the multitude of auxiliary uses the milk crate has.
I use unconventional materials and found objects in my work that have textures, features and a usability that appeals to me as well as an accuracy and repetitive quality that works well as a basis for creative exploration. I have a great interest in design and pay attention to the manufactured objects that pass through my hands. What I enjoy most is finding new and interesting ways of utilizing and extending the life of otherwise overlooked, expendable materials.
